EBC Young Composers Advent Carol Competition winner announced.

Congratulations to Fraser David Macdonald for his piece Late Lies the Wintry Sun

The final was held on Tuesday 28th October. We rehearsed and then recorded three amazing shortlisted pieces with the composers present. Our adjudicator, Gillian Walker, then chose the winner, Fraser David Macdonald, for his piece Late Lies the Wintry Sun which sets beautiful words by Robert Louis Stevenson. Fraser receives a prize of £300 and a performance of his piece at our concert on 13th December.

Congratulations also go to our other two shortlisted composers, Tyler Zwink and Gerardo Herrera, who also produced high quality compositions which we enjoyed learning very much. It was a great experience for the choir to learn and sing these brand new pieces and to bring them alive for these young composers and very important to support and encourage those who will be writing the classical music of the future!
