Mozart Requiem

This Mozart Requiem “Come and Sing”, run by the Edinburgh Bach Choir, will take place on Saturday 6 September at St Cuthbert’s Parish Church, Lothian Road, Edinburgh. Registration will be at 10am, for a 10.30am start. The price is £25, and £10 for EBC members. We will rehearse until 3pm and then perform the Requiem from 3.30pm to 4.30pm to any friends who would like to come and hear us, for a donation of £5. Refreshments (juice and biscuits) will be provided but please bring your own lunch, bearing in mind that no food or drinks are allowed in the main part of the church. There is a hall next to the church which will be available for us. Scores (Süssmayr edition) of the Mozart Requiem will be provided free of charge, but do bring your own score if you have one.

We look forward to introducing you to our brilliant new Musical Director, Nicholas Wilks, himself an experienced singer, who will be leading and conducting. This will be a fun event and a superb opportunity to sing this wonderful piece. We will have four soloists performing with us, and we will be accompanied during the rehearsal by our piano accompanist, Malcolm Garden. Malcolm and Ken Taylor, both excellent pianists, will then play a duet version of the accompaniment for the performance. Please follow the link below for more information about the music.
